For people that don't know the story. Randy Weaver beleived the gov't and his country was going down the drain. So he packed up his wife and kids' and moved to the hills, to get away and live a simple life. Once there he found the majority of his neighbours were white supremisists. He never agreed with their hatred, however they shared a bond in being anti-gov't. His family was invited to their functions, such as picnics and so forth. The FBI wanted to investigate the group, and they discovered Randy knew them but was not part of their methodology. They confronted him to spy on them, and he told them, I went to the hills to get away from the gov't, I respect these people more than the people you work for. The FBI told him he had no choice, but Randy told them to go to hell. The FBI then set him up on planeted gun charges[sawed off shotgun] and so began Ruby Ridge. They shot his son, and dog in the back, and killed the mother while holding the baby. After all was said and done Randy went on to win the court battle, and was found to be innocent. To my knowledge Bill Maher has never apologized for these comments.
